Local EV charging operator Gentari just announced a major update to its Gentari Go mobile app, featuring a series of improvements including the addition of the AutoCharge feature.
Set to go live from July 1, 2026, all Gentari Go users can now charge up their EVs without having to repeatedly activate the chargers, tap RFID cards, or even scan the QR codes, making the public charging experience more seamless across supported brands and charging locations nationwide.
Activate AutoCharge in Three Simple Steps
This AutoCharge feature is now available at selected Gentari DC fast chargers nationwide, and Gentari Go app users can now use them after completing a simple one-time activation setup.
To use Gentari’s AutoCharge feature, users only need to follow these three simple steps:
- Plug-in: The user connects the DC cable to their EV.
- Auto-authenticate: Vehicle is automatically verified.
- Charge: Session begins instantly. No app is needed.
To mark this introduction, the company is offering RM10 GentariGo credits for the first 500 users who successfully enroll and complete their first AutoCharge session.
AutoCharge will be rolled out progressively across Gentari’s nationwide network of more than 600 EV charging points, particularly along key travel corridors and urban locations. Details on eligible charging locations, compatible EV models, and setup guidance are available on the Gentari Go app and Gentari website.
Refreshed Rewards, Improved Security
Besides the new AutoCharge feature, this update also brings in several other improvements to the Gentari Go app, including a refreshed rewards structure and improved security features.
Existing points earned before June 30 this year will remain valid until December 31, 2026, while points earned from July 12 onwards will be valid for 180 days from the date they are earned. On security, users will be required to verify their mobile number to access Gentari Go credits to better protect user credits and rewards while improving transparency around credit balances and expiry dates.
