Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) is celebrating the return of Formula 1 to the Petronas Sepang International Circuit (SIC) with the first public debut of its upcoming all-electric four-door GT, the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe.
Debuted globally back in May 2026, the Malaysian market will be getting the top-spec GT 63 variant of this all-electric behemoth sometime next year, with an estimated price of RM1.29 million.
All-New Platform with Cutting-Edge e-Motor Technology
Built based on the radical Concept AMG GT XX, the upcoming AMG-GT 4-Door Coupe underpins Merc’s new AMG.EA platform with an 800-volt battery architecture. And yes, the second-gen (C590) AMG-GT 4-Door Coupe is exclusively electric, unlike its V8-powered predecessor.
To go with this new platform, the GT 4-Door Coupe features three axial flux motors that were co-developed between Mercedes-Benz and electric motor specialist subsidiary Yasa, which is based in the UK.

Compared to the conventional radial flux e-motors, this new axial flux motor is two-thirds lighter and takes up just one-third of the space but is capable of delivering higher sustained output thanks to its higher power density.
In the upcoming GT 63 form, this triple-motor setup is capable of delivering a combined output of 1,169 PS and a whopping 2,000 Nm of torque, with continuous power rated at 721 PS. With this, the 5-metre-long GT 4-Door Coupe can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds before hitting the limiter at 300 km/h.
You still get the AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive (AWD) system as standard here, and drivers are given several driving modes such as Comfort, Sport, and Sport+, to name a few.
Bigger Battery, Longer Range
To go with the new AMG.EA platform, the new GT 4-Door Coupe also comes with AMG’s new High Performance Electric Battery (AMG HP.EB), featuring a nickel, cobalt, manganese, and aluminium (NCMA) cathode, while the pack is made up of small cylindrical cells measuring 26 mm in diameter.
The GT 63 has a total energy capacity of 106 kWh from this battery pack, which Mercedes-Benz claims is sufficient to provide the large four-door GT with a WLTP-rated range of between 596 and 696 km.
The 800-volt architecture also enables the GT 4-Door Coupe to support up to 600 kW of DC fast charging, where its large 106-kWh battery pack can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 11 minutes. The system also accepts 400-volt DC charging, while the max AC charging rate is capped at 11 kW.
Sleek Four Door Fastback GT with Tech-Laden Interior
For its second-gen redux, the new GT 4-Door Coupe retains its predecessor’s four-door GT bodystyle while having some of the Merc’s latest design elements and bits being scattered around the exterior.
Some key design highlights include the AMG signature Panamericana front grille, which is now illuminated, teardrop-shaped LED headlights with Merc’s three-pointed star lighting signatures, a sleek fastback-style side profile with frameless doors, and a radical rear profile featuring six rounded LED taillights with matching lighting signatures.

Granted that the model displayed here is the GT 55 variant, we can expect some minor design changes to take place for the local-spec GT 63. Regardless of that, this whole four-door GT still measures 5,094 mm long, 1,959 mm wide, 1,411 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 3,040 mm, making it longer, wider, but lower than the previous X290-gen model.

Despite its hypercar-level performance, the new GT 4-Door Coupe is still a grand tourer, and this fact is much reflected in its rather spacious and well-equipped cabin, which, despite the multi-screen setup, is still quite driver-focused.
The screen galore is courtesy of the new MBUX system with the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), comprising a 14-inch driver-facing central touchscreen, a smaller 10.2-inch digital metre cluster, and a third optional 14-inch front passenger touchscreen.
Drivers, on the other hand, will get a new AMG steering wheel with paddle shifters, as well as several vehicle sound options, ranging from Powerful to Balanced and Minimal, plus the AMGForce S+ mode that simulates the V8 sound from the AMG GT-R.
Other key amenities featured here include sporty, bucket-style AMG front seats, a Sky Control panoramic sunroof with AMG light staging, an assortment of AMG-branded items, and many more.
