Besides opening the reservations for the new, second-gen Tesla Roadster, Tesla Malaysia has also announced several updates for the Model 3, which are essentially the updates given to the China-spec Model 3 earlier this year.
The headlining feature from this update is the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) Powershare function, which is now available across selected Tesla models in Malaysia, plus several interior and exterior upgrades exclusive to the Model 3.
Larger Screen, Bigger Wheels
Starting with the equipment upgrades, the updated Model 3 now comes with a larger 16-inch central screen compared to the 15.4-inch unit featured on the pre-updated version.

To go with the larger display, the innards of the Model 3 also come with a dark headliner, as well as a new Zen Grey interior colour option, which looks pretty identical to the previous white colourway but this time around features some vegan leather upholstery material.

Rounding off the equipment changes are the new 19-inch ‘Dark Nova’ wheel options priced at RM7,500, which feature the same dual-five-spoke design as the previous ‘Nova’ wheels but with a darker finish.

Upgraded Motor for Longer Range
Another key upgrade for the 2026 Model 3 is the front motor setup in the Performance All-Wheel Drive variant, which, according to Tesla, is slightly more efficient than the previous unit.
As a result, Tesla claims this new front e-motor helps the Model 3 Performance AWD to reach a longer WLTP range of up to 600 km, which is 29 km more than the 571 km WLTP figure rated for the previous version.
Improved efficiency aside, the updated Model 3 Performance AWD is still quoted with the same acceleration performance as before, capable of blasting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds before reaching its top speed at 261 km/h.

What remains unchanged are the prices for the updated 2026 Tesla Model 3 in Malaysia, as it still retails from RM149,000 for the baseline RWD, RM171,000 for Premium RWD, RM187,000 for Premium Long Range RWD, and RM232,000 for Performance AWD.
New V2L Adapter for All Tesla Models
Back to the V2L device, all Tesla models currently on sale in Malaysia can now support the V2L functionality, allowing them to power up external devices using the battery of these cars.
The American automaker calls it V2L Powershare, and the V2L device specially made for all Tesla models is known as the Tesla Outlet Adapter, which plugs into the charging port of the car and has a three-pin socket on the other end.

Tesla says this adapter can work with all Model Y L variants, as well as all Model 3 and Model Y variants produced from Oct 2026 onwards. The Tesla Outlet Adapter will go on sale in Malaysia at RM350 a piece.
