Aside from Yamaha, CFMoto has also launched a new supersport model during Malaysia’s MotoGP weekend, with its new 2026 CFMoto 500SR.
Now available for purchase from RM29,988, the new 500SR goes neck-to-neck with its fellow MForce stablemate, the newly-launched ZXMoto 500RR, not only in terms of engine capacity and specs, but also in its pricing.

As standard, said price is inclusive of a two-year or 20,000 km warranty against manufacturing defects, and buyers can choose from two colour options for the new 500SR—Galaxy Grey or Nebula White.
CFMoto’s 500cc Supersport Fighter
Just like its ZXMoto’s rival, the new CFMoto 500SR is powered by a 500-cc, liquid-cooled DOHC inline-4 engine that produces 78.8 PS at 12,500 RPM and 49 Nm of torque at 10,000 RPM, but riders can temporarily increase its power output to 81 hp with the Ram Air intake system activated.
Feeding fuel to said engine is a Bosch electronic fuel injection system, while the forged pistons and crankshafts, as well as the fracture-split connecting rods and all-aluminium cylinders enable this four-pot mill to rev at up to 15,000 RPM.
Given its middleweight price point and segment position, the 500SR only underpins a steel tubular frame, while suspensions are provided by 41 mm upside-down front forks and a multi-link rear shock absorber—both of which are adjustable.
Stopping the 500SR is being done by twin 300 mm front disc brakes with Nissin four-piston callipers and a 220 mm single rear disc, also with Nissin callipers. Riders also get dual-channel ABS as standard, as well as two levels of traction control, an adjustable steering damper, and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS).
Near-Flagship Amenities
Despite being positioned lower than both the 675SR-R and 750SR-S, the new 500SR is equipped with plenty of modern amenities and equipment.
Some key highlights include a 6.2-inch full-colour TFT display with MotoPlay, an upshift-only quickshifter, heated handle grips, tyre pressure monitor system (TPMS), USB-A and USB-C charging ports, full LED lights, front aero winglets, and many more.
Rolling stocks for the 500SR measure at 17 inches on both ends with CST S3N tyres measuring 120/70R17 at the front and 160/60R17 at the rear. Seat height is measured at 790 mm or 795 mm, depending on configuration, while the whole ebike tips the scale at 192 kg with a 15.5-litre fuel tank.
