After its long hiatus from our market, the famed Audi Q5 is making its Malaysian comeback, as PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM) today announced the launch of the all-new, third-gen Audi Q5 and Q5 Sportback.
The two Q5 variants are now available for purchase, with prices starting from RM352,990 for the Q5 Advanced and RM421,990 for the sportier Q5 Sportback S Line—both inclusive of a standard 2-year unlimited mileage manufacturer’s warranty, plus five years of complimentary maintenance and five years of roadside assistance.
On top of that, buyers can also extend the warranty with the Audi Assurance Package, which gives three additional years for the manufacturer’s warranty to five years or up to 150,000 km, as well as a 5-year or 75,000 km maintenance service and 5-year roadside assistance.
Two Variants For Now, S Line only for Q5 Sportback
Debuted globally back in 2025, the third-gen Q5 underpins Audi’s latest Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) that was specially developed for the brand’s latest combustion-powered lineup, which itself is an evolution of both the VW’s MLB and MLB Evo platforms used in older Audi models.
We’ll start with the standard Q5, where the Malaysian-spec model comes in a single Advanced trim level that adds 19-inch 10-arm Aero wheels, as well as the Advanced grille trim and bumper design to give the SUV an elegant yet not too excessive look, Audi says.

As for the Q5 Sportback, this coupe SUV twin of the Q5 comes in a sportier S Line trim, which includes additional design bits such as the S Line grille trim, S Line emblem on the sides and interior, and special S Line bumpers to match. Rounding off the S Line treatment are the 20-inch Audi Sport wheels the coupe SUV rides on, with red-hued brake callipers hiding beneath them.

Regardless of versions, both the Q5 Advanced and Q5 Sportback S Line get Audi’s signature matrix LED headlights with unique Digital Light Signatures and LED Rear Lights Pro. The latter further raises the stakes with a Next Generation Projection Brake Light at the rear that can project a warning signal onto the rear window when braking, alerting following drivers to improve overall road safety.
Next-Gen Audi Interior
Inside, both the Q5 Advanced and Q5 Sportback S Line come equipped with the brand’s latest cabin setup, featuring tons of modern and tech amenities to match.
The crown jewel of this cabin is the new 14.5-inch curved OLED MMI display that is part of the Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus setup that also includes a 11.9-inch digital metre cluster with customisable display. The MMI display not only comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay but is also powered by the new Audi Assistant with ChatGPT integration.

Also available here are the Audi Connect and Digital Key features, with the former granting owners remote access to some of their cars’ functions, such as vehicle status monitor, live vehicle location, and theft alerts, while the latter enables them to lock or unlock their car without the need of a key fob in place.

Rounding off the interior amenities list are the ventilated wireless chargers and four USB-C fast-charging ports, while the Q5 Sportback S Line comes with extra bits such as a head-up display (HUD), a Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System, and many more.

Same 2.0 TFSI Powertrain Setup
On the powertrain front, both the Malaysian-spec Q5 Advanced and Q5 Sportback S Line are powered by the same 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbocharged TFSI petrol engine, delivering 199 PS and 340 Nm on the former and 272 PS and 400 Nm on the latter.
Regardless of the different state-of-tunes, both SUVs use the same 7-speed S Tronic automatic gearbox that sends power to the front wheels (FWD) in the Q5 Advanced and all four wheels in the Q5 Sportback S Line via Audi’s proprietary quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

The S Line variant also gets a sportier S Sport suspension setup instead of the standard comfort suspensions on the Q5 Advanced, but both models come with the Audi Drive Select that allows drivers to tailor throttle response, steering weight, and suspension characteristics while on the move.
Last but not least, both the Q5 variants come standard with the Audi Pre Sense safety suite that adds key active safety functions Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring with Exit Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Surround View 360° cameras.
