Three Years of Chery Malaysia – RM2.2 Bil Invested, 60 Dealerships Nationwide

It has been three years since Chery re-entered our local automotive market, and the Wuhu-based automaker has managed to establish a strong presence in this country with a growing customer base, an increasingly diverse product portfolio, and an ever-expanding network.

As of now, the Chery brand features 10 models in its product portfolio, including the newly launched Chery Tiggo 9 flagship three-row SUV, while its outlet network has now expanded to 60 locations nationwide.

RM2.2 Billion Invested to Reinforce Long-Term Commitment

Part of Chery Malaysia’s rapid reintroduction is a series of long-term investments made by the automaker, culminating in the development of its own dedicated automotive production hub, the Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park.

Spanning 200 acres at the heart of Lembah Beringin, Selangor, this all-in-one automotive hub recently completed its first phase topping-out, where it is set to provide 2,000 new jobs once it is operational in Q1 2027 with 100,000 units of annual production capacity.

Not only will the Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park become the brand’s largest assembly facility in the nation, but it will also reinforce Malaysia’s strategic role within the brand’s regional operations.

Empowering Local Communities

Beyond its automotive production and sales businesses, the Chery brand has also been a big supporter in empowering local communities through a series of impactful initiatives.

In 2025, Chery Malaysia became one of the fastest responders to the fire incident in Putra Heights, where the company provided 50 Chery vehicles for affected residents for a period of one month, helping them ease their mobility needs.

The company also showcased its dedication towards responsible growth through a series of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, including Cherish the Nature—an 18-month mangrove restoration programme along the North-Central Selangor Coast earlier this year in collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS).

Within its owners’ community, Chery Malaysia has activated the With Chery With Love (WCWL) community, which became an important platform that connects owners through lifestyle, family, and community activities.

Looking ahead, Chery Malaysia is focused on growing its product portfolio, strengthening local manufacturing capabilities, enhancing customer ownership experiences, and investing in sustainable development, reaffirming its long-term commitment to Malaysia and the future of mobility.
