Leading Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) start-up Xpeng has further expanded its range-extender EV (EREV) lineup in China by unveiling the all-new Xpeng G6 PowerX EREV.
Built on the same 800-volt silicon carbide architecture as its fully electric twin, the new G6 PowerX promises a host of superlative figures, including a combined travel range of over 1,700 km.
1.5T EREV Powertrain, Over 1,700 km of Range
The 1,700 km range claim stems from Xpeng’s own range-extender powertrain setup featuring a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine rated at 150 PS (110 kW), although it didn’t mechanically drive the wheels.
Instead, drive is solely provided by a single, rear-mounted (RWD) electric motor rated at 296 PS (218 kW) and 450 Nm—good enough to propel this midsize SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.

Similar to its EV version, the G6 PowerX EREV is also built on an 800-volt silicon carbide architecture while supporting 5C fast charging that can add 314 km of range in 12 minutes. The battery itself is an LFP unit with a capacity of 55.8 kWh, which Xpeng claims can provide up to 430 km of pure electric range (CLTC).
Combined with its relatively large 60-litre fuel tank, the G6 PowerX EREV gets a comprehensive travel range of 1,704 km with an electricity consumption rate of 13.9 kWh per 100 km—again, these figures are based on the more lenient CLTC standards.
New VLA 2.0 AI with 2,250 TOPS
Just like the recently updated 2026 Xpeng X9 MPV, the new G6 PowerX features Xpeng’s new second-gen Vision-Language-Action (VLA 2.0) artificial intelligence tech that is now capable of delivering up to 2,250 TOPS of computing power.
This significant boost in computing power enables the G6 PowerX to have improved autonomous driving capabilities, with Level 4 autonomy aimed to be achieved within “one to three years.”

Besides autonomous driving, this superlative computing power also supports the car’s new adaptive dampers, which come along with reworked hydraulic bushings for better stability and ride comfort.
Unchanged Design & Interior from the Facelifted G6 EV
Beyond its high-voltage platform, the new G6 EREV also shares the same exterior and interior design as the facelifted G6 EV that was introduced last year.
With the exception of its slightly larger front bumper intake and the fuel cap, the G6 EREV gets the same minor design tweaks seen on the latest EV version, including the dual-spoiler design at the rear, the new full-width LED light bar at the front, and new 20-inch wheels.
The same can also be said for its interior, where the range-extender shares the same minimalist cabin setup as its pure electric twin, but now with the more practical, physically-adjustable A/C vents instead of the Tesla-esque ones in the prior version.
Other key cabin amenities include a 15.6-inch central infotainment screen, a smaller 10.25-inch digital metre cluster, dual 50-watt Qi wireless chargers, an 18-speaker Xopera sound system with active noise cancellation, heated and ventilated seats, and many more.

Sales Commenced in China—Overseas Market Next?
The all-new 2026 Xpeng G6 PowerX EREV is now on sale in China, with the single RWD variant retailing at just CNY 186,800 (RM107,368), thus making it slightly more expensive than the baseline EV version.
With the range-extender version of the updated P7+ already confirmed to make its European debut, we could very well see the new G6 PowerX being made available in other overseas markets soon. Will Malaysia be included on that list?
