MUGEN Introduces the Group B Package for the Honda Civic Type R FL5 and the Price List Will Make Your Eyes Water

MUGEN has introduced its latest performance accessories collection — Group B — for the Honda Civic Type R FL5, offered in phases starting 30 October 2025 through to 2026.

The package was developed specifically for circuit driving under the Extreme R philosophy, where every single component works as part of a cohesive system to elevate aerodynamic and vehicle dynamic performance.

Every component in the MUGEN Group B collection was developed through detailed engineering analysis, careful material selection, and uncompromising quality evaluation.

The result: the package delivers a total weight reduction of approximately 38kg, while generating nearly three times the downforce of a standard Civic Type R.

Aerodynamics: Maximum Downforce and Airflow Efficiency

Up front, MUGEN developed a carbon fibre front bumper lower spoiler (lip) that not only cuts weight but also maximises aerodynamic performance. It incorporates dedicated brake ducts, radiator ducts, and a specialised underpanel that improves cooling efficiency and airflow management.

Also offered is a carbon fibre aero bonnet that optimises the positioning of engine air vents for more efficient heat dissipation.

Carbon fibre front aero fenders replace the factory panels for a significant weight saving while achieving visual harmony with the bonnet.

Along the sides, carbon fibre side spoilers work to increase downforce while completing the aggressive overall design language — perfectly aligned with the front spoiler and rear diffuser.

At the rear, the car receives a large carbon fibre rear bumper diffuser, designed based on aerodynamic analysis to control underbody airflow and increase downforce.

A dedicated opening on top of the diffuser helps release trapped air from within the rear bumper, simultaneously reducing drag.

Completing the aerodynamic package is an adjustable carbon fibre rear wing featuring a Gurney flap design, alongside a ducktail-style spoiler — both engineered to achieve the ideal front-to-rear downforce balance.

Performance Components: Exhaust, Brakes and Engine Bay Dress-Up

On the mechanical side, MUGEN offers a new titanium sport exhaust system with a larger-diameter custom front pipe designed to boost mid-range torque.

The combination of titanium and stainless steel construction results in a weight saving of approximately 8.75kg over the factory exhaust system.

A high-performance brake system is also part of the lineup — developed through testing at international circuits where rotor temperatures reached 900°C — delivering superior braking power and a firmer, more confidence-inspiring pedal feel.

Rounding things out, a carbon fibre engine cover and chamber cover set featuring MUGEN visual elements is also available — bringing the racing character of the Type R all the way into the engine bay.

All MUGEN Group B products are produced in limited quantities, and delivery timelines may vary depending on demand.
