After a lengthy hiatus, KTM Malaysia has returned to the local two-wheeler scene, with the Austrian-based outfit marking its comeback with the launch of its new 2026 KTM 390 series.
Comprising the KTM 390 Adventure R, 390 Adventure X, 390 Enduro R, 390 SMC R, and 390 Duke, all these models use the same 398.7 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled four-stroke LC4c engine rated at 45 PS and 39 Nm with a six-speed gearbox, while underpinning KTM’s signature steel trellis frame.
Prices start at RM27,300 for both the 390 Enduro R and 390 SMC R, RM29,300 for the 390 Adventure X, RM33,300 for the 390 Adventure R, and RM30,300 for the upcoming 390 Duke, which will be available from Q4 2026 onwards.
390 Adventure R & 390 Adventure X – Updated ADV Duo
Starting with KTM’s latest ADV duo, both the 390 Adventure R and 390 Adventure X replace the outgoing 390 Adventure, with the former being billed as the most off-road-capable model in its segment, while the latter serves as the new entry-level adventure model by the company.
The 390 Adventure R rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels with Mitas Enduro Trail E07+ tyres, plus a WP Apex split piston monoshock at the rear and open cartridge upside-down forks for the front.
And given its off-road-focused nature, the R gets a pretty healthy ground clearance of 272 mm with 230 mm suspension travel, while the seat height measures 870 mm and the whole bike tips the scale at 165 kg.
Other amenities primed here include a 5-inch TFT metre display, Bybre brakes with cornering and off-road ABS, high-tech Cornering Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC), a 14-litre fuel tank, and many more.

As for the 390 Adventure X, this new entry-level ADV gets the same rally-inspired design as the R, albeit riding on alloy rims measuring 19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear. Thanks to this, its seat height has gone down to 825 mm.
The X also gets a simpler WP Apex suspension setup with non-adjustable upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. Braking is still provided by Bybre disc brakes with off-road ABS as standard, and other key amenities primed here include a 5-inch LCD display metre, the same 14-litre fuel tank as the X, and many more.
390 Enduro R & 390 SMC R – Hardcore Dual Sport & Supermoto
Next is the dual-sport duo of the 390 Enduro R and 390 SMC R, with the former leaning towards enduro off-road riding while the latter is a more street-biased, supermoto-style offering.
The new Enduro R shares many similarities with the aforementioned Adventure R, including its WP Apex open cartridge front forks with a rear separate piston shock absorber, as well as the 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels that enable a healthy ground clearance of 272 mm.

Having said that, the Enduro gets a much higher seat height of 890 mm, a more advanced Bosch 10.3 MB Modulator ABS system with an optional off-road ABS, slightly smaller brakes with a 285 mm front disc and 240 mm rear, a smaller 9-inch fuel tank, and a 4.2-inch TFT metre display.

Last is the 390 SMC R, which gets similar hardware as its dual-sport twin, including the WP Apex adjustable suspensions, the 4.2-inch TFT display, the 9-litre fuel tank, and many more, while its Bosch 10.3 MB modulator ABS system is offered with optional Supermoto ABS.
But given its supermoto styling, the 390 SMC R rides on 17-inch front and rear aluminium spoke wheels shod in Michelin tyres, thus resulting in its seat height dropping to 860 mm, while the bike’s dry weight is rated at 154 kg, KTM claims.
