Following its first public appearance at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) earlier this year, Jetour Malaysia has now announced the launch date for its first-ever electrified model, the Jetour T2 i-DM, which is set to take place on Sept 19, 2026.
The launch will be held in conjunction with the Malaysia Sarong Music Run 2026, where the automaker is the title sponsor and official car partner, and order books for this rugged plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV have already been opened since June this year, with an estimated price tag of RM168,888.
Jetour Malaysia’s First Electrified SUV
While most of its exterior and interior design look similar to the pure combustion T2, what sets the T2 i-DM apart is the PHEV setup that it underpins.
This PHEV powertrain comprises a 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbocharged petrol engine that is mated to two electric motors and a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) to deliver a combined output of 360 PS and 610 Nm.
Although Jetour Malaysia did not explicitly mention the battery specs for the T2 i-DM, the automaker does claim that this PHEV SUV is capable of reaching 100 km of pure electric range and up to 1,200 km of combined travel range.
Identical Design & Equipment
From its first preview at KLIMS, we can tell that the T2 i-DM shares the same rugged exterior design and posh interior layout as its pure combustion twin, plus some very minute changes.
While the T2 i-DM gets the same 20-inch alloys as the ICE version, the PHEV does ride on normal road tyres measuring 225/55R20 instead of the more rugged all-terrain tyres. The overall design is also similar to the standard T2, with the exception of a charging port located at the rear right quarter panel of the car, plus the i-DM badge on its tailgate.
The similarities continue inside, where the T2 i-DM is packed with modern equipment and comfort amenities. This includes the 15.6-inch central touchscreen, the 10.25-inch digital metre cluster, synthetic leather upholstery, powered and ventilated front seats, a large panoramic sunroof, rear A/C vents, and many more.
