Honda Malaysia has introduced the 2026 updated version of the sixth-gen CR-V, more than two years after its introduction into our local market back in Dec 2023.
The 2026 update sees the local CR-V lineup being simplified, with the addition of a new e:HEV E variant, plus several standard equipment upgrades across the board.
Turbocharged S Variant Dropped, New e:HEV E Hybrid Variant Added
The lineup update sees Honda Malaysia dropping the previous turbocharged entry-level S guise in favour of a new e:HEV E variant that replaces the outgoing turbocharged E spec.
The arrival of this new e:HEV E guise marks the first time for Honda Malaysia to introduce two hybrid variants for any of its models, with the other being the range-topping e:HEV RS variant.
With this, the updated 2026 Honda CR-V lineup for Malaysia and their on-the-road prices now look like this:
- 2026 Honda CR-V 2.0L e:HEV E – RM178,200
- 2026 Honda CR-V 1.5T V AWD – RM181,900
- 2026 Honda CR-V 2.0L e:HEV RS – RM195,900
No Powertrain Changes From The Pre-Update Model
What’s not being updated for the 2026 version are the powertrain specifications for all variants of the CR-V, with the two e:HEV models still rocking the same Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) hybrid powertrain system.
This setup features a 2.0-litre 4-cyl naturally-aspirated Atkinson-cycle petrol engine rated at 148 PS and 190 Nm, which is then mated to an e-motor setup capable of delivering 184 PS and 335 Nm.
As for the sole full combustion variant, it houses the same 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbocharged VTEC engine as the previous version, sending 193 PS and 243 Nm to all wheels (AWD) via a CVT automatic gearbox.

New Exterior Colourway, Minor Equipment Upgrades
Mind you, this is not a proper facelift treatment, so the only notable exterior update given to this SUV is the introduction of a new Blazing Red Pearl colour. Not to mention, the turbocharged V variant now comes dressed with new 18-inch alloys in Sparkling Silver, while the two hybrid variants get 18-inch gloss black wheels as standard.
Inside, the top-spec e:HEV RS gains a darker hairline film finish on the dashboard, plus new RS logo-embossed front seats. Other standard equipment primed across all variants includes:
- New 9-inch Advanced Display Audio system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
- Built-in Google Audio Services (Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Play)
- Digital Key via Honda Connect mobile app
No More LaneWatch, Now with BSI & RCTM
Another key update given to the 2026 CR-V is on the safety front, where Honda Malaysia has finally dropped the LaneWatch system for a more conventional, industry-standard Blind Spot Information (BSI) system.
Just like any other Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) system found in most SUVs nowadays, the BSI system alerts the driver with an illuminated indicator in both side mirrors during lane changes instead of the LaneWatch’s single-camera operation.

Another safety feature primed here is the rear Cross Traffic Monitoring (CTM), which essentially detects any vehicles approaching from either side at the rear part of the car.
