Heads up to Xpeng X9 owners in Malaysia—Bermaz Xpeng has announced a recall campaign for this EV MPV for a potential issue involving the front air springs, following the voluntary recall in China for certain X9 vehicles produced before Aug 11, 2025.
For vehicles confirmed to be affected in Malaysia, Bermaz Xpeng will provide a complimentary replacement of the complete front air suspension assembly.
Free Replacement, Warranty Coverage Expanded
According to its statement, Bermaz Xpeng stated that vehicles confirmed to be affected by this recall will have their entire front air suspension assembly completely replaced, where the replacement will be done at no charge to owners.
Additionally, the warranty coverage for the replaced front air suspension will also be extended to 8 years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first, commencing from the vehicle’s registration date, and the extended warranty is transferable to the vehicle.
Furthermore, Bermaz Xpeng is also coordinating closely with regional partners and relevant authorities to ensure parts supply, technical procedures, and service capacity are ready for this recall. Having said that, the company did not specify just how many X9 MPVs are involved in this recall.

The company further noted that vehicles from other production batches are not affected, meaning that the recently-launched 2026 Xpeng X9 facelift is not involved in this voluntary recall programme.
Customers can contact the Xpeng Malaysia customer service hotline at +603 7627 3883 for inquiries and assistance, and those with affected units may schedule an appointment with an Xpeng authorised service centre through the Xpeng mobile app to facilitate the necessary rectification.
