2026 Xpeng X9 Facelift Launched in Malaysia – 3 Variants, From RM279,888

Bermaz Xpeng Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Xpeng vehicles in Malaysia, has unveiled the latest version of its flagship EV MPV, the 2026 Xpeng X9 facelift.

Still fully imported (CBU) from China, the facelifted X9 gains a host of changes inside and outside, and is offered in three variants for the Malaysian market:

  • 2026 Xpeng X9 2WD Standard Range – RM279,888
  • 2026 Xpeng X9 2WD Long Range – RM297,888
  • 2026 Xpeng X9 AWD Performance – RM333,888

As standard, each of the prices listed above is inclusive of a standard 5-year or 120,000 km manufacturer’s warranty, an 8-year or 160,000 km high-voltage battery pack warranty, and a 5-year or 100,000 km free service and maintenance package.

Bigger Battery, Longer Range

While the updated X9 still underpins the same SEPA 2.0 platform with an 800-volt silicon carbide battery architecture, the EV MPV does get bigger battery capacities spread across three variants.

The 2WD Standard Range is now juiced by a new 94.8 kWh LFP battery pack that promises up to 535 km of WLTP range, whereas both the 2WD Long Range and AWD Performance get a much larger 110 kWh NMC unit, supplying up to 615 km and 580 km WLTP range, respectively.

Charging performance remains one of the X9’s biggest feats, as the updated model can support up to 542 kW of DC fast charging that enables this EV MPV to be charged from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes. AC charging, on the other hand, is still capped at 11 kW for all variants.

The two 2WD variants share the same single, front-mounted (FWD) electric motor rated at 320 PS (235 kW) and 450 Nm. Meanwhile, the top-spec X9 AWD Performance ups the ante with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup with a combined output of 503 PS (370 kW) and 640 Nm—enabling this behemoth to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds.

Minor Design Changes, Revamped Interior

The facelift treatment also has its effect on the new X9’s looks, as the EV MPV now rocks a slightly redesigned front face featuring the evolution of the brand’s signature “Robot Face” front fascia with a cleaner front bumper design, mimicking the front face we saw on its range-extender twin, the X9 PowerX.

Also changed here is the wheel option, where all variants of the facelifted X9 come with the same 20-inch multi-spoke aluminium wheels with a floating Xpeng emblem on their wheel hub cover. Not to forget, two new exterior colourways are available, Lambent Cyan and Polar Violet, thus bringing the total colour options to five (Midnight Black, Arctic White, Matte Gray).

Getting inside the updated X9 is now made easier with the new power front soft-close front doors, and there are three interior colour options available, including the new two-tone Rose Brown that is exclusive to the AWD Performance variant.

Inside, buyers can expect to find the same premium amenities, including:

  • 21-inch expansive head-up display (HUD)
  • 17.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
  • 21.4-inch rear passenger screen
  • 27-speaker XOPERA audio system
  • Five-zone A/C with windless surrounding rear vents
  • Powered front seats with ventilation & massage functions
  • Full grain Nappa leather upholstery
  • Zero-Gravity Sofa seats (Standard & Long Range)
  • Zero-Gravity Grand Sofa seats (AWD Performance)
  • 50-watt wireless chargers (front & rear)
  • Multi-colour rhythmic LED ambient lights

Practicality is still one of the X9’s strongest suits, as the facelifted model still comes with a large 721-litre boot space that can be further expanded once the third and second-row seats are folded down.

Smarter Autonomous Driving with Turing AI

Another key upgrade for the facelifted X9 is the integration of Xpeng’s own Turing AI chipset that features up to 750 trillion operations per second (TOPS), powering the car’s XPILOT ASSIST hardware system.

This Turing AI chipset integration allows for faster and more seamless use of the X9’s autonomous driving capabilities, including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Adaptive Turning Cruise (ATC), Lane Centering Control (LCC), Enhanced Auto Parking Assist (APA), and many more.

Passive safety features are also quite comprehensive for the new X9, which include bits like nine airbags, three-point seat belts for all 7 seats, four rear ISOFIX mounting points, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 360-degree camera system, and acoustic vehicle alerting system (AVAS), to name a few.
