It has only been months since the Proton e.MAS 5 was launched, but this affordable EV hatch has captured the hearts of many Malaysians, as it has now reached its 5,000-unit sales milestone.
Announced by local new energy marque Proton New Energy Technology (PRO-NET), this stellar reception towards the e.MAS 5 has helped Proton e.MAS to retain its position as Malaysia’s number 1 EV brand for Feb 2026.
Over 5,000 Units Sold, Best-Selling EV Model in Feb 2026
According to PRO-NET, the e.MAS 5 has recorded a total sales volume of 1,562 units in Feb 2026 alone—enough to make it the nation’s best-selling EV model last month. Said model also became the major force behind the brand’s total sales of 1,928 units last month.
Combined with its record-breaking sales figure of 3,026 units back in Jan, the MAS 5 has now reached a cumulative sale of 5,219 units. Even more impressive is that this figure is enough to put the EV hatch in the top five ranks for overall car sales in Malaysia.
Over 3,500 Bookings Charted for e.MAS 7 PHEV
Besides the e.MAS 5, PRO-NET also announced that its first-ever plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model, the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV has generated more than 3,500 bookings in just one and a half months since its debut.
Launched earlier in Feb this year, the e.MAS 7 PHEV is positioned as one of the most affordable PHEV models in our market, helping more Malaysians to seamlessly transition towards electrified mobility while retaining the flexibility of an ICE-powered car.
To recap, the e.MAS 7 PHEV lineup starts from RM105,800 for the Prime variant, RM119,800 for the Premium, and RM125,800 for the Premium Plus. Mind you, the prices listed are inclusive of a special RM4,000 launch rebate for the first 5,000 customers.
