Honda Malaysia Extends Hybrid Battery and Component Warranty to 10 Years

As part of its ongoing “Hybrid Done Right” campaign, Honda Malaysia today announced the extension of its hybrid battery and component warranty. Starting from May 1, 2026, all new e:HEV models officially sold by Honda Malaysia will come with an extended 10-year unlimited mileage warranty for their hybrid batteries and components.

Mind you, this warranty extension also applies to existing Honda e:HEV owners, as well as owners of the previous-generation Honda i-DCD hybrid system, such as the GK-gen Honda Jazz, previous-gen Honda City, and many more.

From 8 Years to 10 Years

Prior to this extension, Honda Malaysia previously offered a standard 8-year unlimited mileage hybrid battery warranty, which has now been enhanced to ten years. This covers current Honda hybrid models such as the City, City Hatchback, HR-V, Civic, and CR-V.

On top of that, the hybrid components were previously covered for only five years, and selected components are now covered for 10 years with this new warranty extension initiative.

As mentioned earlier, this warranty extension programme also covers second-hand Honda e:HEV and i-DCD hybrid models, where subsequent owners would still be eligible for coverage even when the vehicle ownership has been transferred, so long as it is still within the 10-year warranty period.

With this initiative, Honda Malaysia hopes to improve the ownership value of its hybrid vehicles for customers in Malaysia by providing them with long-term benefits and a peace of mind ownership experience.
