Cycle & Carriage (C&C), one of Malaysia’s most established automotive groups, today announced the commencement of distribution operations for the Leapmotor brand in Malaysia.

This strategic alliance builds upon C&C’s partnership with Stellantis Malaysia since 2024, marking the company’s return as a multi-brand automotive dealer in our market.

C&C to Handle Leapmotor Malaysia’s Distribution Operations

Through this newly-announced partnership, C&C will now be in charge of Leapmotor’s distribution operations in Malaysia, where the company will work closely with its dealer network to expand the Chinese automaker’s presence in our market.

Among the key focuses for C&C towards Leapmotor in Malaysia are strengthening its customer experience and retail standards, as well as enhancing Leapmotor’s aftersales capabilities throughout its 12 sales and six service outlets nationwide.

“We are proud to mark another important milestone in our partnership with Stellantis Malaysia by beginning distribution operations for Leapmotor in Malaysia. We believe Malaysia is entering an exciting new phase in electric mobility adoption, with customers increasingly looking for smart, technology-driven vehicles that deliver both innovation and everyday practicality,” said Adrian Short, CEO of Cycle & Carriage.

Meanwhile, Stellantis ASEAN managing director Isaac Yeo said, “Cycle & Carriage’s role in leading Leapmotor’s distribution operations in Malaysia reflects a longstanding partnership built on our shared values, mutual trust, and commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.

“This appointment marks an important milestone in a partnership that has continued to strengthen and is backed by proven automotive expertise, an established retail network, and a customer-first approach. We believe that Cycle & Carriage is well-positioned to drive Leapmotor’s next phase of growth in Malaysia.”

Leapmotor CKD Operations Began at Stellantis Gurun Plant

During this partnership announcement, Leapmotor Malaysia also announced the commencement of its local assembly (CKD) effort for Leapmotor EVs at the Stellantis Gurun plant in Kedah.

According to Yeo, the company has spent roughly around RM25 million to prepare and upgrade the assembly line to accommodate the production of Leapmotor EVs. Mind you, the same plant is also responsible for assembling Peugeot cars for both Malaysia and regional market consumption.

The CKD operations for Leapmotor start with the C10 midsize EV SUV, which began sometime in May this year, followed by the now-popular B10 compact EV SUV, which will start its inaugural local production in “two to three months”, Yeo added.

As of now, Leapmotor Malaysia has yet to announce any price changes for their new locally-assembled products, with the C10 D-SUV still retailing the same as its fully imported (CBU) counterpart from RM125,000 onwards, while the smaller B10 prices start lower at RM107,800.
