EVs are often associated with the green wave, but this recent development takes things rather literally, as BYD Cars Malaysia reveals a new Sage Green exterior colourway for the BYD Seal 6.
Available at no extra cost, this new green get-go becomes the fourth exterior colour option to be offered to its C-segment sedan, with the other three being Arctic White, Harbour Grey, and Misty Blue.
New Colourway Inspired by Nature
According to its official social media post, the new Sage Green colourway is inspired by nature and is part of BYD’s environmental mission to cool the Earth by 1°C.
The statement continues with BYD highlighting its local initiatives towards this mission, with both BYD Malaysia and local BYD brand distributor BYD Sime Motors having organised campaigns such as ‘Light The Change Festival’ and ‘Grow To Cool.’
Back to the car, buyers can get the new Sage Green colourway for both variants of the Seal 6, with prices starting from RM100,000 for the baseline Dynamic and RM115,800 for the top-spec Premium.
And given that it is just a fresh coat of paint, no changes took place inside the Seal 6, as both variants are still juiced by a 56.64-kWh LFP BYD ‘Blade’ battery pack that offers up to 410 km of WLTP range. Said battery can be charged either via a 100 kW DC fast charge or a slower 6.7 kW AC charge.
Power is provided by a single, rear-mounted (RWD) electric motor rated at 129 PS and 220 Nm for the base Dynamic, while the Premium gets a higher output of 218 PS and 330 Nm.
Coincidentally or not, BYD is not the only EV brand to unveil a new green colourway for their model, as local rival Proton e.MAS just did so for both its e.MAS 5 and e.MAS 7 PHEV, with Jade Green for the former and Emerald Green for the latter.
