Following its local assembly (CKD) operations commencement, local Xpeng brand vanguard Bermaz Xpeng has finally opened the order books for the locally-assembled 2026 Xpeng G6 EV SUV.

And just like its previous fully imported (CBU) counterparts, the Melaka-made G6 will be available in three powertrain variants, with no price changes taking place for any one of them:

  • 2026 Xpeng G6 Standard Range CKD – RM158,888
  • 2026 Xpeng G6 Long Range CKD – RM178,888
  • 2026 Xpeng G6 AWD Performance CKD – RM189,888

Said prices are inclusive of a limited-time ownership programme that provides a complimentary wallbox charger worth RM5,000 and insurance coverage support of up to RM5,000. Deliveries for the CKD models are expected to commence sometime later in August this year.

Similar Powertrain Spec with CBU Model

While Bermaz Xpeng did not disclose much information regarding the G6 CKD, we understand that the locally-assembled variants will largely mirror their CBU counterparts, at least in terms of their powertrains.

Still underpinning the same SEPA 2.0 platform with an 800-volt battery architecture, the entry-level G6 Standard Range uses a single, rear-mounted (RWD) electric motor rated at 252 PS and 440 Nm that enables a 0-100 km/h time of 6.94 seconds.

Juicing said motor is a 68.5 kWh LFP battery pack that Xpeng claims is good for up to 480 km (WLTP), which can be charged from 10 to 80% in just 12 minutes via a 382 kW DC fast charger (DCFC).

As for the G6 Long Range, it gets a single RWD motor that is tuned higher to produce 296 PS and 440 Nm, granting it a quicker century sprint time of 6.7 seconds. The LR also benefits from a larger 80.8 kWh LFP battery pack that provides up to 525 km of WLTP range and can also be charged from 10-80% in just 12 minutes, this time via a faster 451 kW DCFC.

Last but not least, the G6 AWD Performance houses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup rated at up to 487 PS and 660 Nm, enabling this midsize EV SUV to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.13 seconds.

Using the same 80.8 kWh LFP pack as the LR, the G6 AWD Performance gets a slightly discounted WLTP range of 510 km.

With three variants confirmed for now, it seems that the G6 AWD Black Edition model won’t be available in CKD form, with said model previously retailed at RM193,888 in its CBU form.

Made in Melaka, for Malaysians

In case you missed it, the upcoming Xpeng G6 CKD is now being locally assembled at EP Manufacturing Berhad’s (EPMB) plant in Pegoh, Melaka, with the first unit rolling off the line at said plant just last month.

This production commencement also makes Malaysia the third country outside of China to produce the G6, with the first two being Indonesia and Austria—the latter produces the G6 for European market consumption.

“Xpeng’s leadership in AI-driven mobility aligns with Malaysia’s direction to strengthen domestic EV capabilities and build a competitive, future-ready ecosystem. With local assembly of the G6 now underway, we are proud to offer Malaysian customers a smart EV that combines advanced technology with the added value of domestic production.

“We are also pleased to maintain the same competitive pricing for the CKD G6 while providing additional ownership benefits, ensuring that intelligent electric mobility remains accessible to more Malaysians as the nation progresses toward its electrification goals,” said Dato’ Sri Francis Lee, group CEO of Bermaz Auto Berhad.
