National automaker Perodua just announced a new price revision for its first-ever EV model, the Perodua QV-E, following the recent major localisation shift for said model.

From now onwards, Malaysians can get the new QV-E at RM69,999 with the 9-year Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) package that includes a reduced monthly rate of RM215 or buy the entire EV outright at just RM93,999.

In conjunction with this price revision, Perodua also announced a special limited-time offer from now until September 30, 2026, where the QV-E will be priced at only RM87,449 or RM63,499 with the same BaaS package.

Special Refunds for Existing QV-E Owners

Following this price revision, Perodua also assures that existing QV-E owners will be given a special refund, and they will be contacted by their respective sales advisors for the refund process in due time.

To recap, the QV-E original body price is RM80,000 with a 9-year BaaS subscription package of RM275 per month. Speaking of which, existing QV-E customers will also enjoy the new BaaS monthly rate of RM215 that will come into effect in the next payment cycle.

More QV-E Components Are Now Locally Sourced

Part of this price revision is due to a “major localisation shift” in the production of the QV-E, which Perodua said has resulted in better efficiency.

Perodua President & CEO Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad commented that this development saw Perodua and its local vendors being able to manufacture “a significant number of parts locally”.

“This means that we can further protect local jobs while being less dependent on foreign technology and supply chains. This development is important as we can now build a more resilient inventory of spare parts—especially the car body parts—to ensure that customers can rely on readily available domestically produced items when they need them,” the P2 boss added.

With this recent localisation shift, Perodua has not only managed to share its benefits with its customers in the QV-E’s price revision but also boosted its production capacity to 500 units per month.

To recap, the 5-star ASEAN NCAP-rated QV-E features a 52.5 kWh LFP battery pack that Perodua claims is good for up to 445 km of NEDC range. Power is provided by a single, front-mounted (FWD) electric motor rated at 204 PS (150 kW) and 285 Nm to enable this compact crossover to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds—making it the quickest production Perodua to date.
