Following its first public showcase at the Malaysia Bike Show (MBS) in May this year, Modenas Malaysia has finally launched its new 400-cc sport touring maxi scooter fighter, the 2026 Kymco Xciting VS 400.
Set to arrive in authorised Modenas Kymco dealerships later in the month, the new Xciting VS 400 comes with a recommended retail price of RM27,988, which includes a two-year or 20,000 km warranty against manufacturing defects, subject to terms and conditions.
“Best in Class” Powertrain Setup
As its name suggests, the Xciting VS 400 is powered by a 400-cc single-cylinder four-stroke liquid-cooled engine that produces 33.8 PS (24.9 kW) at 7,250 RPM and 37.5 Nm of torque at 5,750 RPM, which Modenas claims to be the best in its class.
Compliant with the Euro 5 emission standards, said engine is then mated to a CVT automatic gearbox that helps to send power to the rear wheels via a belt final-drive system.
To ensure it goes toe-to-toe against other sub-400 cc scooters out there, the Xciting VS 400 is equipped with a series of riding equipment, including a built-in traction control system (TCS), front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, telescopic front forks, 5-stage preload-adjustable twin rear shock absorbers, and a 12.5-litre fuel tank.
Middleweight Sport Touring Maxi Scooter
Positioned as Kymco’s latest middleweight sport-touring maxi scooter, the new Kymco Xciting VS 400 comes with dynamic and aggressive styling plus tons of premium amenities.
Some key exterior highlights include full LED lighting units on both ends with built-in LED DRLs, a 5-level adjustable windscreen, a unique two-stage seat with a tapered front-end design for easier foot placement, and two colour options—Flat Black and Cerulean Blue.
Dimension-wise, the Xciting VS 400 spans 2,190 mm long, 799 mm wide, 1,389 mm tall with a seat height of 805 mm, and 1,570 mm wheelbase, while the whole bike tips the scale at 213 kg.
Jumping into its cockpit, riders will be greeted by an LCD digital metre display, as well as the smart keyless system. Other cockpit features include a large 29-litre illuminated underseat storage, two auto-locking front cowl storage compartments with a USB charging port on the left side, and many more.
