Just less than a month since it was opened for booking, the new 2026 Honda City Facelift is officially launched in Malaysia, with four variants now available for purchase and the previous base S variant having been dropped for this new version.
- 2026 Honda City 1.5 E – RM89,900
- 2026 Honda City 1.5 V – RM94,900
- 2026 Honda City 1.5 RS – RM99,900
- 2026 Honda City 1.5 e:HEV RS – RM119,900
Included with these prices is an improved 8-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty and a 10-year unlimited mileage warranty for the hybrid battery (e:HEV RS only). The first 2,400 bookings will also enjoy a special launch rebate worth RM3,000, which is applicable to all variants of the new City.
Same Generation, New Front Face
As seen in Thailand and India, the second facelift version of the current GN-gen City features some minor design and equipment changes, with the most obvious one being its entire front end.
For the top-spec RS variant, the refreshed front fascia now features sharper LED headlights with more prominent daytime running lights, complemented by a full-width light bar and a slimmer front grille.
Also new here are the entire front bumper, which features a sleeker single-colour design instead of the two-tone styling on the outgoing model, while the side air curtains are now more prominent.
The rest of the new City RS exterior also gains some minor changes, including the new 17-inch alloy wheels with a turbine-style spoke design, the redesigned rear bumper with a diffuser-like lower bumper insert, and new albino-styled LED taillights with a smoke tint.

Not to forget, only four exterior colour options are available from now on—Blazing Red Pearl (new colour), Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Stellar Diamond Pearl.
A More Modernised Interior
To go with its sleek new front face, the new City also gets a revamped cabin setup, featuring a series of equipment and design changes.

Still sticking to the top-spec RS variant, the cabin now houses a larger 10-inch central infotainment screen (also available for V, 8-inch for E) that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as a 360-degree camera system as standard.
Other key changes included here are the resurfaced front dashboard that features silver trims and red accents along with ambient lights, plus redesigned faux leather upholstery with the same black and red colourway. Unfortunately, the front seats still didn’t get the same ventilation function we’ve seen in other markets.

The rest of the cabin remains largely unchanged from the first facelift version, featuring dedicated rear A/C vents, two USB charging ports for the rear passengers, and a large 500-litre boot space for the petrol variants and a smaller 410-litre one for the hybrid version.
Unchanged Powertrain Lineup
Given that the update is mostly a cosmetic facelift treatment, the new City still retains the same powertrain setup as before, with both the pure combustion and hybrid options available for Malaysians to pick.
The petrol version uses Honda’s tried-and-tested 1.5-litre 4-cyl naturally-aspirated DOHC i-VTEC engine that makes 121 PS and 145 Nm, with said power being delivered to the front wheels (FWD) via a CVT automatic gearbox.

As for the hybrid version, it still uses Honda’s proprietary i-MMD e:HEV hybrid powertrain setup, comprising a 1.5-litre 4-cyl Atkinson-cycle petrol engine rated at 98 PS and 127 Nm, which is paired to an electric traction motor that makes 109 PS and 253 Nm.

Honda Malaysia claims this e:HEV setup is good for a low fuel consumption of 3.7 litres per 100 km (27 km per litre), and the automaker even conducted a real-life test at the event, where the City e:HEV managed to run for 35 km non-stop using only one litre of fuel.
Improved Safety Features
Safety features have also been upgraded for the new city, where, besides the standard Honda Sensing ADAS suite coming standard across all four variants, it also gains several new active safety features.

Apart from standard features like Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), the new City also comes with Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), on top of the existing Honda LaneWatch camera system.
