Following strong customer interest after its launch back in July 2026, BMW Malaysia has announced the addition of a second batch of 50 units for its locally-assembled (CKD) 2026 BMW 218 Gran Coupe M Sport.
This second batch of the new 218 Gran Coupe M Sport can now be purchased at the same launch price of RM192,800 with a standard two-year warranty or RM204,800 with the optional BMW Service & Repair Inclusive (BSRI) programme that includes a four-year extended warranty and service package.
With the addition of this 50-unit second batch, the total number of the new 218 Gran Coupe M Sport in Malaysia now increased to 100 units, as 50 units were already allocated during the first batch release.
Same Engine as Non-M Sport Variant
As detailed prior, the new 218 Gran Coupe M Sport shares the same 1.5-litre 3-cyl turbocharged B38 engine rated at 156 PS and 230 Nm as its non-M Sport predecessor.
Power is sent to the front wheels (FWD) via a seven-speed Steptronic DCT gearbox that propels the sedan from 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds before reaching its limited V-max of 235 km/h.
The M Sport treatment does bring one particular mechanical upgrade, which is the Adaptive M Sport dampers. The rest of the changes, however, are mostly cosmetics, including the M Sport bodykit with high-gloss Shadowline trim, the BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille, and 18-inch Style 975 M alloy wheels.
The M Sport-ification continues inside with the M leather multifunction steering wheel and M anthracite headliner, while both the Harman Kardon audio system and the head-up display are now for this model.
Other cabin amenities primed here include a 10.7-inch infotainment display running BMW OS 9, a smaller 10.25-inch digital metre cluster, powered front seats, and many more.
