Three years after making its Malaysian debut, the compact Honda WR-V has finally gotten a long-awaited update for the 2026 model year, featuring a series of minor changes and upgrades.

For the 2026 version, this ‘Winsome Runabout Vehicle’ now only comes in three variants, with their respective on-the-road prices listed below:

  • 2026 Honda WR-V E – RM94,900 (RM1,000 less than pre-update version)
  • 2026 Honda WR-V V – RM98,900 (RM1,000 less than pre-update version)
  • 2026 Honda WR-V RS – RM104,900 (RM3,000 less than pre-update version)

Included with these prices are the standard 5-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty, as well as five times free labour service within five years or 100,000 km.

New Colours, Upgraded Interior

Visually, the new WR-V looks more or less similar to the previous version, although the top-spec RS variant does get a new Blazing Red Pearl colourway that is matched with a blacked-out roof.

Other colour options available include Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Stellar Diamond Pearl, meaning that both the Ignite Red Metallic and Crystal Black Pearl are now dropped from the lineup.

Still with the RS, the top-spec variant also swaps its predecessor’s chrome get-go for a sleeker all-black finish on its chequered front grille. Not to forget, all variants of the new WR-V now come with 17-inch gloss black alloy wheels as standard.

Inside, the updated WR-V gets a series of new equipment, with the RS variant gaining new red-hued ambient lights, a wireless charging pad, and a new 360-degree camera-view system.

Meanwhile, both the E and V specs gain new leather upholstery for all the seats, a larger 10-inch central infotainment screen to match the RS that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and Dark Steel accents around the cabin.

Unchanged Powertrain Specs

As expected, the updated WR-V gains no performance upgrades whatsoever from the outgoing model, where all three variants are still powered by the same 1.5-litre 4-cyl naturally-aspirated DOHC i-VTEC engine as before.

Rated at 121 PS and 145 Nm, this engine is paired with a CVT automatic transmission that drives the front wheels and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 11 to 11.2 seconds, depending on variant.

Safety-wise, the new WR-V still comes with the Honda LaneWatch passenger-side blind spot camera as before, while the Honda Sensing ADAS suite is available across all variants as standard.
