In a bid to support the government’s EV initiative, national new energy vehicle brand PRO-NET has completed the delivery of four electrified vehicles from their portfolio to the Ministry of Transport (MOT).
Taking place at MOT’s headquarters in Putrajaya, the four electrified vehicles are the Proton e.MAS 7 EV SUV, Proton e.MAS 5 EV hatch, Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, and the smart #1 EV crossover.
PRO-NET’s Support Towards the Government’s EV Initiative
The vehicles handed over to the ministry will be used as part of the government-led initiative to evaluate electric vehicles for official government use, with this recent handover being a follow-up to the official launch ceremony of this initiative back on Aug 26 last year.
Multiple automotive brands, including PRO-NET, have pledged support for the ministry’s programme to introduce EVs into its operational evaluation fleet. Through this programme, government stakeholders will experience EV technology firsthand while assessing its practicality, performance, and suitability for daily operations.

Commenting on this effort, Proton deputy CEO Dato’ Ir Abdul Rashid Musa said that the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the government’s efforts to accelerate Malaysia’s transition towards sustainable mobility.
“We are honoured to support the Ministry of Transport in this initiative by providing the Proton e.MAS 5, e.MAS 7, e.MAS 7 PHEV, and smart #1 for evaluation. Initiatives like this allow stakeholders to experience EV technology firsthand, which plays an important role in shaping policies, infrastructure development, and the broader adoption of electric mobility in Malaysia.”
“As Malaysia’s No. 1 EV brand, Proton is proud to contribute to the initiative with the Proton e.MAS 5, Proton e.MAS 7 and Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV further supporting the country’s growing EV ecosystem,” he added.
