Isuzu Malaysia has embarked on a new fuel efficiency challenge with its new 2026 Isuzu D-Max 2.2TD, where the pick-up truck will attempt to complete a one-tank journey with a loop around Peninsula Malaysia.
Known as the “D-MAX One-Tank. One Nation” challenge, the cross-country challenge will start at the Isuzu 3S centre in Balakong, Selangor, before making its way to other Isuzu dealerships in Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Pahang, Kelantan, Kedah, and Perak before making its way back to Kuala Lumpur.
Around Peninsula Malaysia on Single Full Tank
According to Isuzu Malaysia, the six-day journey will be done using a single full tank of diesel fuel, and the convoy will be making stops in several Isuzu dealerships along the route, where spectators can enjoy special giveaways and refreshments provided by the crew.
Fans around the country can also further engage in the journey by guessing the total mileage the D-Max would have covered by the time it returns to Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.

The top prize of a RM5,000 grocery shopping voucher awaits the one who guesses closest to the final mileage, with lots of secondary prizes to be won. Interested parties can participate in this contest by registering themselves on this dedicated webpage.
“We believe that the new Isuzu D-Max featuring the ‘best engine ever’ 2.2-litre powerplant possesses the ideal qualities to engage in such a daunting challenge. Its amazing power delivery, where 56% of the vehicle’s maximum torque is already available from as low as 1,000rpm, coupled to a new 8-speed automatic gearbox will allow the vehicle to efficiently accelerate to speed yet cruise comfortably along the highways,” said Kenichi Kudo, COO of Isuzu Malaysia.
