BMW Group Malaysia recently announced that its annual brand showcase this year will be known as the BMW Clubhouse, set to take place from July 17 to 19 at Factory 19, Petaling Jaya.
To go with this announcement, the company also published a short teaser video on its social media channels, featuring a short montage of a blurred-out car, which we believe will make its local debut at this upcoming showcase.
New BMW M Model Teased?
According to the company’s official announcement, the upcoming BMW Clubhouse will “mark the local debut of several new models and variants from BMW and M” while at the same time showcasing its Technology Openness portfolio spanning multiple powertrain types, including battery electric (BEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and internal combustion (ICE).
And while the car displayed on the short teaser video was blurred, the sharp and distinctive headlights design indicates that this could be a new variant to the current G80-gen BMW M3. The next frame partially shows the car’s cross-spoke alloys, which leads us to the most potent variant of this infamous badge, the BMW M3 CS.
What’s more interesting is that towards the end of the video, it appears that this mysterious M model rocks a long-roofed wagon body, and now we’re quite certain that this will be the long-awaited BMW M3 CS Touring—yes, a wagon M3 could be coming to Malaysia soon.
An estate 3 Series is quite a rarity here, let alone a top-most potent M-badged version, as BMW Group Malaysia currently sells both the M3 and 3 Series in their ‘standard’ sedan form.
Should this be true, then we’re looking at a 550 PS and 650 Nm-rated performance wagon that can do a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 3.5 seconds and up to 300 km/h flat out—courtesy of a souped-up 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six S58 engine that pairs up with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.
Power outputs aside, the M3 CS Touring also benefits from a series of mechanical upgrades, including new engine mounts, a re-tuned steering system, adaptive dampers, and many more.
Exciting Activities Revolved Around the BMW Brand
Besides the new model showcase, visitors to the upcoming BMW Clubhouse can also indulge themselves in a series of interactive activities curated around each of the four dimensions of Sportiness, Expression, Leadership, and Luxury, as well as limited-edition BMW merchandise up for grabs.
