Besides the new 2026 BYD Atto 3, the Sime Motors MotorExpo 2026 last week also witnessed Auto Connexxion-Ford updating its SUV range in Malaysia by introducing the new 2026 Ford Everest Platinum duo.
This 4×4 SUV duo now stands as the most premium offering in the Everest lineup, with prices starting from RM348,888 for the Everest Platinum 2.0L, and RM430,888 for the Everest Platinum 3.0L V6 turbodiesel.

Said prices are inclusive of a standard 3-year or 100,000 km manufacturer warranty, an extra 2-year or 60,000 km extended warranty, plus a special launch promo of 2 years’ free service maintenance.
3.0L V6 Turbodiesel Available
Similar to its pick-up truck twin, the Everest lineup in Malaysia now includes a 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel powertrain option that is offered to the top-spec Everest Platinum 3.0L.
Rated at 250 PS and 600 Nm, this six-pot mill is mated to a 10-speed SelectShift automatic gearbox with an e-Shifter and a full-time four-wheel-drive (4WD) system with an advanced ElectroMagnetic Transfer Case (EMTC) to enable intelligent torque distribution to maximise traction, stability and control across various driving conditions.
The second Everest Platinum variant uses a smaller and less peppy 2.0-litre 4-cyl single-turbo diesel mill rated at 170 PS and 405 Nm. And just like the V6 model, this variant also comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission and full-time 4WD with EMTC as standard, while featuring up to six selectable driving modes—Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Mud/Ruts, and Sand.
Most Premium Everest Variant
Dubbed the most premium variant in its model lineup, the new Everest Platinum gains several key design bits that help to differentiate it from the more adventure-orientated Wildtrak variant, while at the same time retaining some off-road design elements.
Some key highlights include an all-black front grille with a black ‘Platinum’ script on the bonnet that is exclusive for the 3.0L V6 version, new 21-inch alloy wheels shod in Goodyear Wrangler tyres (20-inch for the 2.0L version), a slew of silver accents, matrix LED headlights with C-clamp DRLs, and four exterior colourways, namely Acacia Green, Absolute Black, Meteor Grey, and Arctic White—the latter is only available for the 2.0L Platinum variant.
The luxury Platinum treatment continues inside the cabin, where both the 2.0L and 3.0L V6 variants feature the same list of premium equipment and amenities, including:
- 12-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
- 12.4-inch TFT multi-information display
- Dual-zone climate control
- Dual-panel sunroof
- Powered front seats with heating & ventilation functions
- Heated rear seats
- 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system (3.0L V6 only)
Regardless of variant, the new Everest Platinum comes strictly in a seven-seater layout with a 2-3-3 configuration, plus a 259-litre boot space that can be expanded to 1,818 litres with both second and third-row seats folded down.
2026 Ford Everest Sport 2.0L – Updated Entry-Level Variant
Besides the new Everest Platinum duo, also making its debut is the updated entry-level variant for the Everest SUV in Malaysia, the 2026 Ford Everest Sport 2.0L.
And as its name suggests, the Sport variant is powered by the same 2.0-litre 4-cyl single-turbo diesel mill rated at 170 PS and 405 Nm as the Platinum 2.0L model, albeit with a part-time 4WD system. Also new here is the same 10-speed automatic transmission used on its more premium siblings, replacing the six-speed unit used on the previous version.
Available in four exterior colours—Command Grey, Lightning Blue, Arctic White and Absolute Black—the all-new 2026 Ford Everest Sport 2.0L retails at RM316,888, making it the most affordable Everest model on sale in Malaysia.
