iCaur Malaysia has announced the commencement of its first local assembly (CKD) effort with the iCaur 03 EV SUV, with the first-ever 03 CKD just having rolled off the line at Chery Corporate Malaysia’s plant in Shah Alam.
This stylish boxy EV SUV was previously offered as a fully-imported (CBU) unit from China, where it received positive receptions by Malaysians since making its local debut back in Sept 2025.
Single Variant Only for the CKD Version
For the CKD version, iCaur Malaysia has decided to cut down its variants to a single iWD dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) guise, which now retails at RM129,880 on-the-road sans insurance.
Said price is inclusive of a 7 kW AC home charger, as well as complimentary service for two years or 45,000 km, whichever comes first. That said, its warranty remains the same as the CBU model, spanning 7 years or 150,000 km for the vehicle warranty, plus a separate 10-year or 200,000 km warranty for the battery and electric drive.
And should the battery health drop below 60% within the warranty period, iCaur Malaysia will provide a one-to-one battery replacement.
Predictably, powertrain specs remain unchanged for the 03 iWD CKD, featuring a dual-motor AWD setup that delivers a combined system output of 279 PS and 385 Nm to enable a quick 0-100 km/h time of 6.5 seconds and top speed of 150 km/h.
Supplying power to the motors is a 69.8-kWh LFP battery pack that iCaur claims is good for up to 418 km of travel range, at least according to the more lenient NEDC standards. Said battery supports both 6.6 kW AC and 80 kW DC charging methods, the latter enabling the LFP pack to be charged from 30% to 80% in around 30 minutes.
Same Standard Equipment as CBU Model
Previous 03 CBU buyers certainly won’t feel that envious towards the new 03 CKD owners, as the CKD version retains the same standard equipment and amenities featured on its China-built counterparts.
Key exterior highlights include full LED headlights and taillights with adaptive high beams, 19-inch wheels with an aero-optimised design, and five exterior colour options—Grey, Black, Silver, Green, and White.
Interior amenities are also carried over from the CBU version, featuring powered front seats with ventilation and massage functions, dual-zone climate control with dedicated rear air vents, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 50-watt wireless charging pad, a 540-degree around-view monitor, a 360-degree digital video recorder (DVR), a 12-speaker Infinity audio system, and many more.
