Chery Corporate Malaysia has announced the signing of a new strategic collaboration agreement with Touch ‘n Go (TnG) in a bid to integrate some of the latter’s digital mobility technology into its models.

From this collaboration, selected models under Chery Corporate Malaysia, such as Chery, Omoda | Jaecoo, and iCaur will be offered with TnG’s branded RFID tags as a bundle item, providing a more seamless experience for drivers.

Leverage on TnG’s RFID Tech & Chery’s Rapid Growth

Part and parcel of this partnership will see Chery Corporate Malaysia offering customers TnG’s RFID at the point of sale and ultimately support a seamless tolling experience for future Chery, Omoda | Jaecoo, and iCaur owners.

It also highlighted the role of the RFID tech as an “important enabler within Malaysia’s evolving mobility landscape.” Thanks to its interoperable design that is compatible with any Single Lane Fast Flow (SLFF) or Multi-lane Fast Flow (MLFF) systems, the RFID system may be deployed in the future, thus offering an innovative and scalable solution that can support future developments in tolling and road usage.

Another factor for this partnership is the rapid recent growth of all brands under Chery Corporate Malaysia. Since its re-establishment back in 2023, the Chery main brand has delivered over 30,073 units nationwide, whereas the Omoda | Jaecoo brand recently recorded an annual sales figure of 17,849 units in 2025 alone, representing over 150% year-on-year growth.

“At Chery Corporate Malaysia, innovation goes beyond vehicle design because we are committed to delivering smarter ownership experiences. By integrating RFID tags at the point of sale, we are empowering our customers with immediate, hassle-free access to Malaysia’s evolving tolling infrastructure,” said Men Lin Bo, Executive Vice President of Chery Corporate Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Praba Sangarajoo, CEO of Touch ’n Go Group, added, “It is encouraging to see an automotive partner like Chery Corporate Malaysia taking proactive steps to make RFID accessible to their customers from day one. Our collaboration also highlights the automotive industry’s recognition of RFID as an important tool, reflecting a shared belief that RFID is not merely a payment system, but it is an essential tool for the future of mobility in Malaysia.”
