Queen Express Bus Tickets Kelantan Raya Sold Out

EXPRESS bus tickets for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri balik kampung journey to Kelantan sold out in just five minutes after going on sale on 15 February.

Public transport operator Queen Express revealed that more than 3,000 seats for trips from the Klang Valley to Kota Bharu on 17 to 19 March were snapped up within that brief window.

Its Executive Chairman, Mohd Suffian Daud, said the extraordinary demand is proof of just how many Kelantanese working outstation are eager to make it home for the festive celebration.

No Additional Buses Being Added

He said the company will not be operating any additional bus services throughout the festive season this year.

At present, Queen Express operates:

  • 46 buses
  • Covering 7 destinations (excluding Johor)
  • Operated by 90 drivers aged between 30 and 60 years old

He made these remarks at a press conference following the company’s receipt of the Drug-Free Workplace Certificate (TEKAD), presented by the Kota Bharu AADK chief.

A Yearly Rush That Never Changes

The phenomenon of Kelantan-bound bus tickets selling out within minutes is nothing new.

Every year as Aidilfitri approaches, tickets for the journey home to the state fondly known as Serambi Makkah are as hotly contested as ever — particularly among Kelantanese working in the Klang Valley.

The annual surge in demand has also seen more express bus operators entering the market each year to try and keep up with passenger needs.
