At long last, after a series of previews and pre-launch test drives in China, the long-awaited 2026 Denza Z9GT has finally made its local debut, and Malaysia becomes the first market in the Asia-Pacific region to get this sleek EV wagon.
Available in a single full electric variant, the fully-imported (CBU) Z9GT retails at RM358,800 sans insurance and road tax, and said price is inclusive of a standard six-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 160,000 km warranty for its high-voltage battery and electric drive unit, plus six years of complimentary scheduled maintenance service.
In conjunction with the launch, the first 99 buyers of the Z9GT will be entitled to bring home a pair of exclusive Devialet x Denza earbuds, with each set worth RM2,000.
BYD’s Most Advanced Model in Malaysia
As detailed prior, the Z9GT carries a host of the latest and greatest technologies BYD has to offer, thus making it some sort of a halo product for both BYD and Denza.
One of which is the BYD e3 Platform that features a tri-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup that is capable of delivering a combined output of 1,156 PS and 1,210 Nm.

Not only is this output enough to make it the most powerful EV model in Malaysia, but it also enables the Z9GT to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, en route to its limited V-max of 269 km/h.
To support its hypercar-level power, the Z9GT’s e3 Platform is supported by the second-gen BYD Blade Battery 2.0 with a 1,000-volt battery architecture that enables it to support BYD Flash Charging technology. Through this, the Z9GT’s large 122.49 kWh battery pack can be topped up from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes and from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes, making range and charging anxieties a thing of a past for the sleek EV wagon.

Other mechanical bits such as the DiSus-A air suspensions and the rear-axle steering system with up to a 15-degree turning angle are all primed here, with the latter being able to be used together with its independent dual rear motors to enable some trick manoeuvres like crab walking, low-speed drifting, ‘pencil compass’ turns, and many more.

Sleek EV Wagon with Flagship-Level Cabin
Designed with the philosophy of “Elegance in Motion”, the Z9GT comes in two exterior colours for our market—Obsidian Black and Rime Gold, although other options such as the striking Emerald Green may arrive sometime later in the future.
While it may not look—or drive—like so, the Z9GT is a humongous wagon, spanning 5,180 mm long, 1,990 mm wide, and 1,490 mm tall with a long wheelbase of 3,125 mm.
For reference, its German rival, the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo, is slightly smaller in size, measuring 4,963 mm long, 1,966 mm wide, and 1,390 mm tall with a 2,900 mm wheelbase.
And thanks to its generous dimensions, the Z9GT rocks a pretty spacious cabin laced with modern amenities and three interior colour options—Dark Chocolate with Red Velvet, Dark Chocolate with Perg Beige, and Full Black with black suede seats. Some key amenities provided here include:
- 17.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
