Just weeks after reaching its 40,000th unit milestone, national xEV automaker Proton e.MAS has surpassed the 32,000-unit milestone in just nine months of this year.
This achievement came after the automaker registered 4,340 units in September, which brings its total Year-to-Date (YTD) sales from Jan to Sept 2026 to 32,200 units.
Proton e.MAS 5 Still Leading the Chart
To no one’s surprise, the ever-popular Proton e.MAS 5 is still the brand’s most popular model, accounting for more than two-thirds of its domestic sales in Sept with 2,490 units registered.
This is followed by the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV with 685 units delivered, whereas the Proton e.MAS 7 EV charted a total sales of 526 units in the same period.
Combined with its total sales in the previous eight months, a total of 20,327 e.MAS 5s have been registered domestically. The e.MAS 7 PHEV follows with 6,247 units, ahead of the e.MAS 7 EV at 4,530 units.
Growing Export Momentum
Beyond Malaysia, Proton e.MAS has also continued its positive sales streak in the overseas markets, as the brand achieved its highest-ever monthly export performance in Sept 2026 with 639 units shipped.
This positive export figure brings its total exports for the first nine months of 2026 to 1,096 units, with last month’s shipments alone accounting for 58.3% of the brand’s total exports YTD this year.

Similarly, the e.MAS 5 also becomes a big favourite in the export markets, contributing 358 units to Sept exports, followed by the e.MAS 7 EV with 276 units. The e.MAS 7 PHEV also began its export journey in Sept, with the five units recorded representing the first five e.MAS 7 PHEVs exported.
“Surpassing 32,000 sales in just nine months, reaching more than 40,000 cumulative deliveries and recording our highest-ever monthly export volume are significant milestones for Proton e.MAS, and we are grateful to our customers for the trust and support they have given us, said Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET.
