2026 Proton X50 Sport Edition Launched in Malaysia – From RM102,299*

Following its first public preview earlier this month, the new 2026 Proton X50 Sport Edition has officially launched in Malaysia.

Based on the Flagship variant, buyers can get the new X50 Sport Edition now for RM102,299 based on the current Oct 2026 rebate worth up to RM13,000, which brings the X50 Flagship base price down from RM113,300 to RM100,300.

According to Proton, the Sport Edition package itself, which comprises up to 15 exterior and interior enhancements worth RM7,000 in total, is only offered at a special price of RM1,999.

As standard, said price is inclusive of a standard 5-year unlimited mileage warranty with six times free labour service. All the accessories added from this package are also covered in the same 5-year standard warranty, except for the Sport Edition front, side, and rear skirtings, as well as the Sport Edition emblem, TPE floor mats, and metal door scuff plates, which get 3-year warranty coverage instead.

15 Exclusive Sport Edition Parts

The 15 exclusive exterior and interior parts brought in by this Sport Edition package are mostly visual changes.
On the exterior, these parts are finished in matching gloss black with contrasting red accents, which includes:

  • Black Front Upper Garnish
  • Black Front Side Port Trim Garnish
  • Black Lower Bumper Garnish
  • Black Rear Side Port Trim Garnish
  • Black 18-inch Alloy Wheels
  • Sport Edition Front, Side, and Rear Skirtings
  • Sport Edition Emblem

As for the interior, the SE get-go starts with the contrasting red stitches on the steering wheel, seats, armrests, and door trims—all of which are upholstered in black. There’s also the Sport Edition embroidery on the front seats, as well as on the TPE floor mats, while the metal plates on the door sills are embossed in the same SE emblem.

Aside from the specific warranties stipulated earlier, P1 went further by assuring that all these 15 SE parts have undergone “more than 13,700 hours of testing covering durability, corrosion resistance, UV resistance, and suitability for Malaysia’s tropical climate.”

Same 1.5L Turbocharged Engine

Predictably, the SE treatment only applies for cosmetic and equipment changes, with no significant powertrain or mechanical upgrades given to this sporty crossover—something that Proton R3 fans would be slightly frustrated with.

It continues to draw power from the same 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged BHE15TD petrol engine as the standard X50, which is rated at 181 PS and 290 Nm as standard. Said mill is then mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox that drives the front wheels (FWD), enabling this crossover to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds.

Other standard amenities are also shared with the X50 Flagship, including

  • 14.6-inch central touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • 8.88-inch digital metre cluster
  • 72-colour ambient lighting system
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • 360-degree camera system
  • Single-zone A/C with dedicated rear vents
  • Level 2 ADAS
