After several teaser videos published via its official social media channel, Chery Malaysia has finally unveiled the latest addition to its Tiggo SUV family, the new Chery Tiggo Cross Sport Edition.
The new Tiggo Cross SE is essentially a sportier variant to the standard Tiggo Cross that debuted last year, featuring some new design changes that Chery Malaysia says give the car a “street-ready stance that turns heads from the car park to the finish line.”
Street-Inspired Bodykit
From the single image shown, we can see that the new Tiggo Cross SE now wears a sportier bodykit over the regular version.
Some key highlights include a more aggressive front lip with side winglets, a more prominent rear bumper garnish with a diffuser-like element and faux tailpipe cut-outs, plus a new ‘Sport’ badge on its tailgate.

What remains unchanged for the new Tiggo Cross SE are the 18-inch alloy wheels that are also used on the Turbo variant, as well as the octagonal front grille with the same crosshatch inserts as before.
Having said that, Chery Malaysia did not publish any interior photos of the new Tiggo Cross SE, so perhaps we can expect more changes to take place inside this compact SUV crossover.
Turbo Variant First
Set to make its local debut later in Oct this year, Chery Malaysia will be introducing the new Tiggo Cross SE in its full combustion version first, so it is safe to assume that the hybrid version will also be getting the SE treatment in the near future.
For reference, the full combustion variant of the Tiggo Cross is powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 147 PS and 210 Nm of torque. Said engine is then mated to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, with all said power being delivered to the front wheels (FWD).
Given that the Chery Tiggo Cross Turbo currently starts at RM88,800, and its hybrid twin retails higher at RM99,800, how much do you think the upcoming Chery Tiggo Cross Sport Edition will be priced at?
