At long last, national automaker Proton has finally launched the new 2026 Proton S70 NA, adding two new entry-level, non-turbocharged variants to its C-segment sedan lineup.
- 2026 Proton S70 NA Lite – RM56,800 after rebate (RM59,800 standard)
- 2026 Proton S70 NA Prime – RM59,800 after rebate (RM62,800 standard)

Mind you, the prices listed above are inclusive of a special launch rebate worth RM3,000, which will be available for cars registered until Dec 31, 2026. Included with said price is a standard 5-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty, six times free labour service, and trade-in support worth up to RM2,000.
C-Segment Sedan with Saga MC3 Heart
As detailed prior, the new S70 NA swaps the S70 MC1’s turbocharged powertrain for a more frugal, naturally-aspirated engine in the form of the same 1.5-litre 4-cyl naturally-aspirated i-GT engine used on the Proton Saga MC3.
Labelled as the 1.5L i-GT engine by the national automaker, this four-pot NA mill makes 120 PS and 150 Nm, which is the same amount of power as in the Saga MC3. What sets the S70 NA apart from the aforementioned AMA-based sedan is the new CVT gearbox it is paired with.

Unlike Saga MC3’s Punch CVT, the S70 NA gets a different CVT unit that features a torque converter for smoother step-off acceleration, with Proton claiming the box has survived over 5,400 hours of dynamometer testing and covered up to 412,000 km of local on-road testing.

More ‘Basic’ Exterior
Billed as the two new entry-level variants to the recently-updated 2026 Proton S70 MC1, the new S70 NA does get some slight design changes over its turbocharged twins.
For starters, both the S70 Lite and Prime get a fully blacked-out front grille, with the former even stripping out all the silver accents and trims on its front bumper for a cleaner, more basic look. Also changed here are the actual headlights, where the Lite settles for basic halogen units instead of the LED units on the Prime, with the latter featuring the same bulb turn signals seen on the S70 MC1.
Other key exterior changes include 16-inch turbine alloy wheels for Lite, 17-inch multi-spoke wheels for Prime, no full-width taillight bar at the rear for both variants, the new i-GT badge on the tailgate, and five colour options—Quartz Black, Space Grey, Snow White, Marine Blue, and Armour Silver.
Re-Specced Interior with “Class-Leading Features”
The re-specification work continues inside, where the new S70 NA gets some equipment changes from its more premium siblings, although Proton insisted that it still features several “class-leading” features as standard.

This includes the new 8-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (available later in Oct 2026) with a reverse camera view mode, which is paired to a semi-digital metre cluster instead of a fully-digital unit.
While the whole cabin setup remains unchanged, the S70 Lite gets the shorter end of the stick with fabric upholstery, manual-adjustable front seats, and a rear seat bench with fixed headrests, whereas the Prime gets fancier faux leather upholstery with a built-in centre armrest and adjustable headrests for the rear seats.
Other standard amenities featured on both variants include dedicated rear A/C vents with two USB charging ports, a large 500-litre boot space, plus several basic safety features such as six airbags, traction and stability control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rear collision warning, a door opening warning, and a rear seat reminder.
