
Following its introduction on the CBR650R and CB650R, Boon Siew Honda (BSH) has further expanded its E-Clutch technology in Malaysia with the launch of three new E-Clutch-equipped models—the 2026 Honda CB750 Hornet, XL750 Transalp, and NX500.
Now available for purchase, the CB750 Hornet goes for RM44,999, while the NX500 is priced lower at RM34,099, and the retail price for the XL750 Transalp will be announced later in December this year. As standard, each model comes with a standard 2-year or 20,000 km manufacturer’s warranty, whichever comes first.
E-Clutch Product Portfolio Expanded
Unveiled globally at EICMA 2025, the introduction of the E-Clutch-equipped CB750 Hornet, NX500, and Transalp provides Malaysian riders with more alternatives and options while lowering the barriers for less-experienced riders to enjoy these bigger capacity bikes.
Starting with the CB750, the E-Clutch version uses the same 755-cc parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crank as before, capable of pushing out 91.7 PS and 75 Nm.
And just like the normal transmission version, the CB750 comes standard with five riding modes (Sport, Rain, Standard, User 1, and User 2), plus three levels of Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Wheelie Control, and Engine Braking adjustment.
Moving on to the NX500, this adventure tourer continues to draw its power from the 471-cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 50.3 PS and 45 Nm of torque. And just like the previous version, this E-Clutch-equipped NX500 still comes with HSTC as standard for better rear-wheel traction management.
Last but not least, the Transalp shares the same 755-cc parallel-twin engine as the CB750, plus a throttle-by-wire (TBW) system that adds six riding modes—Sport, Rain, Standard, Gravel, and two user settings.
Honda E-Clutch, Explained
For those who aren’t familiar with Honda’s E-Clutch, this technology was developed to automatically manage starts, stops, and gear changes, allowing riders to focus more on riding the motorbikes.
Honda insisted that the E-Clutch tech is not an automated transmission like its DCT technology, where riders can still shift gears with their foot as standard. The system only manages the clutch actuation, delivering faster and smoother gear changes than a traditional quick shifter by intelligently managing a “half-clutch” state that eliminates shift shock.

For experienced riders, the E-Clutch tech provides sportier, more precise gear changes that Honda claims can surpass manual shifting, while the auto rev-matching on downshifts makes aggressive riding smoother and more controlled.
More importantly, this tech also provides a safety net for riders who just transitioned to a bigger capacity bike by making the learning curve less steep. And for new riders, it allows the inexperienced to focus more on other aspects of riding, such as throttle and braking control, while alleviating their fear and anxiety while riding.
