Official BYD car importers BYD Sime Motors has expanded its Atto 3 SUV lineup with the addition of the new top-spec variant, the 2026 BYD Atto 3 Performance.
This dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant to the brand’s best-selling EV SUV comes months after its fellow siblings were launched, with only 69 units available for grabs, each retailing at RM149,800. As standard, said price is inclusive of a 6-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty for both the battery and motor.
Those who are lucky enough to get one of these 69 units will also get an exclusive launch package worth up to RM10,000, which includes a complimentary wallbox charger with installation and overtrade support worth up to RM6,000.
Buyers who don’t want the charger can instead opt for a six-year standard service package, but their overtrade support will be slightly reduced to RM5,000 as a trade-off.
Dual-Motor AWD with 470 km WLTP Range
As mentioned earlier, the new Atto 3 Performance does share the same upgrades seen on the recently-updated 2026 Atto 3, but this top-spec variant ups the ante with an extra 130 PS-rated motor at the front axle over the Premium RWD.
Combined, this dual-motor AWD setup can deliver up to 449 PS and 560 Nm, enabling this C-segment EV SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in four seconds flat, thus making it the quickest and most powerful model in this segment.
And just like the Premium RWD version, the new Atto 3 Performance is also equipped with the same 74.88 kWh Blade LFP battery, although its claimed WLTP range has been reduced to 470 km. Not to mention, its 800-volt electrical architecture also enables the Atto 3 Performance to support 220 kW of DC fast charging.
This means that topping up the Atto 3 Performance from 10% to 80% only takes 25 minutes, while charging it fully via 11 kW AC takes approximately eight hours.
Identical Design Changes
The similarities continue on the design part, where the Atto 3 Performance gets the same design changes we saw on the new Premium RWD.
Aside from the AWD badge on its tailgate, some design bits shared with the Premium include the revised front and rear bumpers, redesigned D-pillars, new full-width LED taillights, the dual third brake lights on the rear wing, and the 18-inch turbine alloy wheels—now with a two-tone finish.
The same goes for its interior, where the Performance gets the same all-black cabin with a revised front dash design as the Premium, but both the quirky rounded door handles and the guitar strings on the door pockets are here to stay.
Some key amenities primed here include a new built-in refrigerator that can both chill and warm up your food items, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen that no longer rotates, a larger 8.88-inch digital metre cluster with a head-up display (HUD), a column-mounted gear shifter, a 50-watt Qi wireless charger with cooling vents, and many more.
Cargo space for the Atto 3 Performance reads out at 490 litres for the rear boot, which now comes with a tonneau cover. What surprised us is that despite harbouring an extra motor on the front axle, the Performance still gets the same 101-litre frunk space as the Premium RWD.
