The first locally-assembled (CKD) Xpeng G6 has just rolled off the line at EP Manufacturing Berhad’s (EPMB) production plant located within the Hicom Pegoh Industrial Park in Melaka.
Unveiled via Xpeng’s official social media channels, the first G6 CKD appears to be based on the facelifted G6 model that debuted locally in August last year, while at the same time making Xpeng the third Chinese automaker to employ EPMB as their contract assembler, after GWM with the Haval H6 HEV and Wey G9 PHEV, as well as MG with the S5 EV.

First Xpeng CKD Model Rolls Off
While not many details were shared by Xpeng for now, the first G6 CKD roll-off marks a significant step and yet another milestone for the Chinese new energy vehicle marque in the ASEAN region.
The original announcement was made back in December 2025, where Xpeng named EPMB as its CKD partner in Malaysia. Back then, it was already rumoured that the G6 EV SUV would be the brand’s first model to be assembled here, followed by the X9 all-electric MPV, as well as its range-extender twin, the Xpeng X9 PowerX, later in the near future.
Again, details are quite scarce for now, so it remains to be seen whether this CKD commencement will have any apparent change to the pricing of the G6 here in Malaysia. As of now, this midsize EV SUV retails from RM158,888 for the entry-level RWD Standard Range, RM178,888 for the RWD Long Range, RM189,888 for the AWD Performance, and RM193,888 for the top-spec AWD Black Edition.
