Southeast Asia’s first and only Mercedes-AMG ONE Service Hub has officially launched in Hap Seng Star Mercedes-Benz Bukit Tinggi, Klang, positioning Malaysia as the regional home for servicing and maintenance needs for the Merc’s Formula 1-derived hypercar.
This RM2.2 million investment is part of an exclusive group of nine Mercedes-AMG ONE service hubs worldwide, with the other outlets located in Germany, Switzerland, the Middle East (UAE, Kuwait), and Japan.
One of Nine AMG ONE Service Hubs Globally
Mercedes-AMG’s decision to pick Malaysia as its new AMG ONE service hub for the Southeast Asian region boils down to a combination of geography and local expertise.
The Hap Seng Star Bukit Tinggi outlet in particular was selected due to its close proximity to Port Klang, which is one of the busiest ports in the whole region, thus making logistics work smoother.
On the topic of expertise, the Affalterbach-based marque praises the level of technical expertise in Malaysia, which is among the highest in Southeast Asia, which turned the favour towards us tremendously.
Another contributing factor is the location of Mercedes-Benz’s regional spare parts hub for Asia Pacific, which is also located in Malaysia, making it more accessible to get parts to maintain this hypercar.
Service Works by Mercedes-AMG’s Flying Doctors
Servicing of the Mercedes-AMG ONE at this hub is conducted by specially trained technicians from Mercedes-AMG, particularly a dedicated team of Flying Doctors that is brought in to attend each of the customer’s cars.
This Flying Doctor team is made out of six AMG technicians, including one Malaysian, while access for local Mercedes-Benz Malaysia technicians, including those from its apprenticeship programme, is also welcomed to learn about the servicing works of this F1-derived hypercar.

According to MBM, the first service package, cordially named Service A, will cost owners in the region of six figures Malaysian Ringgit, and that is before any special works or extra repairs.
This package entails basic servicing works such as replacement of a majority of fluids and a full vehicle inspection, requiring up to 80 work hours, or around two weeks to complete.
World’s First F1-Derived Road Car
While mere mortals like us would scratch our heads at the cost and the intricate works gone into servicing the Mercedes-AMG ONE, we’d reckon it will only be right for us to revisit this F1-derived, road-legal machine and see what makes it so different with many other hypercars out there.
Powering the AMG-ONE is the same V6 hybrid powertrain setup used on one of Merc’s F1 racers, particularly from the Mercedes-AMG W07 that was used on the 2016 season of the F1 championship.
It comprises a small 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 engine that can rev up to 11,000 RPM to deliver 574 PS by itself. This is then mated to a Motor Generator Unit-Heat (MGU-H) that adds 122 PS by drawing energy from exhaust gases to spin the compressor, plus the Motor Generator Unit-Kinetic (MGU-K) that adds another 163 PS to this hypercar.

Two additional electric motors join the foray, both located on the front axle of the car for a combined output of 1,063 PS for the AMG-ONE. Paired with a seven-speed automated gearbox, the AMG-ONE can propel from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in seven seconds flat, and 0 to 300 km/h in just 15.6 seconds before flatting out at 352 km/h.
